Yes, it’s the return flight at last. Airport was Manchester’s most thunderously wrong Thursday night out for many years. The concept is simple – the club transmogrifies into a departure lounge, with a different destination each week. The DJs turn into pilots, complete with flying caps and wings, and trolley dolley hostesses rattle around the place dispensing duty free liquor direct to your stomach. Expect moral turbulence as the DJ pilots take you to your sunny destination. And if you want to join the Mile High Club, well then that’s entirely up to you…
The fabulous news is that Airport has returned to its original home, now refurbed and re-invented as the uber-exclusive, brand new venue, Entourage, in the heart of The Printworks. Beyond a narrow doorway and down some anonymous looking steps you’ll find yourself in the glamorous environs of Entourage, with a sweeping balcony encompassing a central dancefloor and booths at the back. Already set to take its place at the heart of Manchester’s clubland, Airport will form a key night at the venue, kicking off that inexorable slide into the weekend.
The inaugural flight takes off on Thursday November 19th and your pilots will be the usual reprobates Miles High and Will Travel. First destination – the world famous party resort of Marbella. There, you can kick back and enjoy the obligatory hospitality – duty free drinks promotions that include Vodka Redbulls at £2, beers from £1.50 and cocktails from £3. And for that real taste of Global Glamour, pucker up and open up as the trolley dollys go hell for leather in the Champagne Spray Party.
